Saturday, 4-5-2019 a workshop entitled "Manufacturing of a modified waveform inverter" was held for the female students of the electrical engineering department. The workshop started at 9:00 am at the Renewable Energy Laboratory at the Islamic University. Prof. Dr. Hala Jarallah El - Khazandar presented a theoretical explanation of the design of the circuits of the inverter. Then, Dr. Rifa Jarallah El-Khozondar presented an explanation of the steps of manufacturing the inverter. Then Mr. Nidal Ahmed made training for the students on the manufacture of the inverter. Steps of manufacturing the inverter include the following. Processing the acid by mixing hydrogen peroxide H2O2 with hydrochloric acid HCl by 2: 1, then drawing the electronic circuit that was designed to manufacture the inverter using Protos program, followed by the processing of the board to cut the copper plate with an area of 10 cm × 16 cm, then clean it with sandpaper and wash it with soap. After that, the electronic circuit is printed on the copper plate by placing the paper and mounting it over the board and then ironing it for about 5 minutes. After that, the copper is removed by placing the acid in a clean glass basin. Then put the copper plate printed on it with black ink in the basin and leave it for one hour approximately. When the copper layer is removed except for the areas where the electrical circuit is printed for the inverter, the copper plate is removed from the acid. The plate is washed thoroughly with water and dried with cleaning paper. The circuit is then pierced using the drill in the areas marked with black dots. The thickness of the badminton is used for 1 mm, then the circuit is assembled and the pieces are fixed with tin to get the inverter circuit. The students participated actively in all the steps of the preparation of the reflector where the students have the process of perforation and assembly of the circle and welding tin pieces to install them in the circle. The students expressed their admiration and the benefit that they got from this workshop and expressed their views on the importance of such workshops in which students gain practical skills that benefit in the labor market. The students also recommended the need to repeat such workshops that benefit and serve the community.
